Packing List

  1. Just plan to bring comfortable (yet appropriate) clothes to the conference (i.e. jeans, joggers, sweats, sneakers, etc.).
  2. We are planning to do some walking, bring comfortable shoes for those walks.
  3. No need to bring towels, pillowcases, or bed sheets. All is provided by the conference hotel.
  4. Simply bring your personal toiletries and any personal medicines. Other last minute items can be provided by the hotel or WWOG Staff.

Ground Transportation

  1. One of the WWOG Team members will pick you up at the Atlanta airport if you submit your Travel Details in advance. You can submit your travel details as many times as necessary in the event that your flight or schedule changes before the conference.
  2. The Atlanta airport is the busiest airport in the world but it's simple to navigate with its own train system connecting all concourses. There are only two domestic terminals labeled North and South. It's unlikely you will need to go to another terminal upon arriving. In either case, the terminals are within easy walking distance from one another.
  3. If you submit your travel details in advance, our shuttle driver will contact you one day before the conference to coordinate your airport pickup and will be waiting for you at the airport right outside the baggage claim area.

Weather Information

  1. Weather in Atlanta is usually warm around in September with temperatures in the mid to 80s during the day and mid 60s at night. Humidity remains high around 64% or higher making it feel warmer than it actually is. At this time of the year, low precipitation is expected with the possibility of short thunderstorms in the afternoons and evenings.

 Health Related Information

The WWOG Leadership Team is concerned about your health and safety. During the conference, anyone with flu-like symptoms will need to seek appropriate medical attention and our staff will assist with that. Those symptoms include body aches, fever, continuous sneezing, or continuous coughing. Keep in mind that those with traditional allergies are not contagious and can fully participate in all group activities. During the retreat, anyone with obvious flu-like symptoms will need to be isolated until a determination can be made regarding the risk of getting others sick. A video connection to the main conference floor will be provided for anyone in isolation and who is still able to participate remotely. For those with reasonable suspicion of a contagious infection, an at-home test kit or a test at a local urgent care clinic near the conference site may be required before resuming participation in the group activities.

The COVID or annual flu shot is not required to attend the conference. Should you be or not be inoculated, that is your choice and we all must respect your decision. No discussions about the merits of the flu or COVID shot(s) are encouraged during the retreat. You are free to have your own opinion but that discussion adds no value at the conference.

Face masks are not required at any of the retreat activities; however, you are welcome to wear a face mask if you choose to do so. Please know that the latest research shows that the only masks that can protect someone from highly contagious viruses are N95 or surgical masks which are properly fitted on an individual's face. Furthermore, common sense tells us that wearing any type of mask in a group setting and later removing it while sitting down to eat with others is equally ineffective at preventing contagion.

Frequent hand washing, daily bathing, the frequent use of antiseptic gels for hand hygiene, sneezing and coughing into a handkerchief, not sharing one's eating or drinking utensils, moderate physical distance from those suffering from airborne viruses, and other traditional good hygiene practices have been proven effective at reducing transmission of germs. We will encourage those during the conference.

HEALTH GUIDANCE FROM HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS

For the retreat, our staff will use proven healthy practices and common sense to be ready for our meeting. We know that different people have different reactions to viruses and other illnesses. Ultimately, it is important that you examine your own health and determine the safety measures you need to put in place when meeting with others at the conference.

The conference will be filled with exciting fellowship and powerful growth opportunities. Let’s all be prayed and ready for the Lord to do his will in our lives!
